How you had a chance to take a look at kickfire, I was looking into the Quad myself and I just started to put together the systems combo I like to test and my manager asked me about kickfire.

Does anyone test it, any information will be really helpfull, thanks in advance.

When doing only inserts you are going to be disk I/O limited, not CPU bound. What disk setup do you have? One spindle or more?

I just started working on a 8 core Mac Pro. With MySQL 5.0 I am not getting more than 200% when only doing inserts. I am using the my-huge.cnf configuration, but do I need to change other settings?

Could I have a look at your configuration
cheers,
Dennis
